Schowe

The Keck family started out in the small German village of Schowe in what is now Serbia. It is now called Ravno Selo.

A Google Maps aerial view of Ravno Selo, the current name of Schowe. The old houses built by the Schowe Germans in the early years of the 1900s still stand and are now occupied by the current residents.

The top dot sows the location of the Keck house. The bottom dot is the location of the home of grandmother Seil, nee Lahm.


Very few photos from the days of Schowe exist. Here are some that survived.

Ludwig Keck learned to be a skilled mechanical craftsman starting at the Fiat factory and served in the Hungarian military.
